Eurovision 2021: Jendrik "I Don't Feel Hate"
Dove sarebbe Elton John senza il suo pianoforte, o Lizzo se togliessi i suoi iconici assoli di flauto? Non vogliamo saperlo, e lo stesso vale per Jendrik e il suo ukulele.
Alcuni musicisti passano anni alla ricerca del loro strumento caratteristico, ma Jendrik ha trovato il suo nelle mani di una sorellina che aveva ricevuto il minuscolo liuto a quattro corde come regalo di compleanno. Prendendo il dono per se stesso, Jendrik ha iniziato a comporre canzoni per i suoi genitori e fratelli, ed è così che è iniziata la sua carriera di compositore.
La tappa successiva per l'ukulelist nato ad Amburgo è stato l'Istituto di musica dell'Università di scienze applicate di Osnabrück, e probabilmente puoi indovinare l'argomento che ha scelto per la sua tesi di laurea in arti ... sì, l'ukulele.
Per arrivare all'Eurovision, Jendrik ha dovuto impressionare una giuria tedesca composta da esperti del settore e dal pubblico in generale, quindi nell'agosto 2020 ha iniziato a creare una lavanderia colorata e non convenzionale per il video promozionale del suo ingresso.
“Mi è venuta in mente l'idea della lavanderia a gettoni e ho iniziato a offrirmi di portare da loro le macchine rotte della gente del posto. Così ho fatto un giro per Amburgo raccogliendo lavatrici e altri pezzi per il video, e poi ho chiesto ai miei amici di apparire anche loro. Il tutto è fatto da sé. Le lavatrici erano così pesanti. "
Il video della lavanderia a gettoni ha mandato in tilt i giudici tedeschi, che nel febbraio 2021 hanno confermato la partecipazione di Jendrik all'Eurovision Song Contest.
