Eurovision 2021: Gjon's Tears "Tout l'Univers"
Gjon Muharremaj, di Broc nel Canton Friburgo, si dedica alla musica sin da bambino. Muovere suo nonno fino alle lacrime con la sua interpretazione di Can't Help Falling in Love di Elvis Presley a 9 anni è stata un'esperienza formativa e l'ispirazione per il suo nome d'arte: Gjon's Tears. "Che si tratti di gioia, tristezza o malinconia, voglio toccare le persone con la mia musica in ogni modo".
Il nonno di Gjon, che ha radici albanesi, fu così commosso dalla voce di suo nipote che lo registrò per un talent show in Albania nel 2011. L'allora dodicenne arrivò terzo in Albania's Got Talent. Un anno dopo, ha raggiunto le semifinali nell'equivalente svizzero e di nuovo nel talent show francese The Voice France nel 2019.
Gjon ha una profonda ammirazione per il cinema, è appassionato di teatro e ama trarre ispirazione da musei e gallerie d'arte. Ma la musica è sempre stata la sua priorità assoluta: non solo è un grande amante della musica classica, ma ammira anche "la magia di Cesária Évora, l'eccentricità di Grace Jones e l'intelligenza musicale di David Bowie".
